Samini’s contention that P-Square’s hit song and dance Alingo bore too much resemblance with Azonto to be original piece of art has attracted a response from popular Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh.
Samini’s version of the song, recorded with P-Square’s Alingo instrumental, released Monday criticizes the Nigerian duo for stealing the Ghanaian dance craze, Azonto and naming it Alingo.
There have several comments on several social networking sites over the song and arguments over who actually owns the Azonto dance craze.
Tonto Dikeh is not enthused by Samini’s song. She took to Twitter Wednesday to jab Samini over his song and his accusations.
The actress tweeted: “Azonto is Azonto n Alingo is Alingo! So waz his stress gosh! Ova d years 9ja has been bringin out dif dance moves no diss of copywrit!”
Tonto did not end there. She added, “Somtimz I wonda Y most Ghanians alwaz loks 4 we Nigerians trouble gosh.” “@samini_dagaati HEY hold it rit dere! cuz if u think abt startin drama here on twitter beliv me am ready to bring it to ur door stepOK #POKO,” she added.
Samini apparently amused by the actress’ tweets also replied: “@tontoTEEdike on some #rhymes?.. Your waist. LMAO”
At this point it was clear Tonto was just warming up. She again tweeted: “@samini_dagaati Respect is d Key to life! ALingo is Alingo nd Azonto is Azonto So sit in ur Zone nd stop trowin stone to d glass houz #poko”
There has not been any official word from P-Square but Peter Okoye, a member of the duo tweeted that: “Don’t you worry your pretty little mind. Pple throw rocks @ things that SHINE.”
