Goodluck Jonathan splashes N47m on Golden Eaglets

The Federal Government of Nigeria has given out a total of N47M to the Golden Eaglets team for their victory at the 2013 Under-17 World Championship.
The eaglets along with their coach and technical staff were received by President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday, November 10, 2013 who hosted a reception in honour of the players at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Each of the 19 young stars received the sum of N2m for emerging victors at the competition held in the U.A.E.
The head coach Manu Garba received a cash gift of N3m the assistant coaches got N2.5m each; the team doctor, physiotherapist and team secretary got N500,000 each while the team technical officer, team coordinator, medical officers and the curator got N300,000 each.
It is also believed they received different landed properties.
The team, the handlers, the coaches and the officials including some key members of the supporters club and the Nigerian Football Federation will all be rewarded when we give national honours’, he said.
Earlier, the Eaglets had also met up with Nigerian Pop singer Davido and from the Instagram photo we saw, it was a happy-wild encounter.
