These are certainly good times for award-winning British/Nigeria actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, as the ‘Half of a yellow sun’ star is fast becoming one of the most sought-after actors in the American film industry.
Following a highly successful and impressive performance as Solomon Northup in the widely acclaimed film ’12 Years a Slave’, there have been recent reports that the 36-year old actor may be looking to get cast in the upcoming ‘Star Wars Episode VII‘.
NET gathered that Ejiofor has been spotted with Star Wars director, J.J Abrams
in the latter’s office, spurring rumours that they were both working on
the movie although the reports have not been verified as the actor has
neither confirmed nor denied the claims.
Abrams has also chosen to remain
secretive about the cast of the film which is being expected to be in
theaters in 2015, stating that he ‘can’t discuss casting’ at the time.
Ejiofor is however not a stranger to starring in sci-fi movies, having featured in ‘Serenity’ in 2005, and in 2006’s ‘The Children of Men’. When asked what his reaction will be if he got a Star Wars offer, the actor’s reply was tentative, ‘Well we’ll see if it happens, you know. I’m not going to tell you.’ He answered
