Police Arrests Blackmail Syndicate Who Strips Pastors Naked And Blackmail Them

The police in Lagos State have bursted a five-man syndicate that specialises in blackmailing perceived wealthy suspects with threat to publish their nude photographs. The antics of this group made up of a husband and wife and three other accomplices, came to an end when they attempted blackmailing a senior prophet of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Special Apostle Prophet T. I. Adewoye.
Adewoye was said to have been invited for a prayer session by the only woman in the group, Mrs. Latifat Balogun. The prayer session was scheduled to take place in Balogun's matrimonial home.
On getting there, Adewoye was said to have been accosted by the four men in the group, including Balogun's husband, who is said to be on the run.
They forcefully took Adewoye's nude photograph then demanded for a N10 million settlement for them not to make the photographs public.
After paying N2.150 million, Adewoye was said to have refused parting with more money and subsequently told some key members of the church about the development.
When the matter was reported to the police, it was easy for the detectives to trace the suspects because they already had a similar case on their hands.
The suspects were said to have also blackmailed a prominent banker the same way, using Latifat Balogun as the bait.
When the detectives went to pick up the suspect, three of them, including Balogun's husband fled. They are yet to be apprehended and only Latifat Balogun and Makanjuola Olagunja were arrested. The police on Monday filed charges against Latifat Balogun and Olagunja in suit No. MM/E/7/2014.
Olagunja, 50, and Balogun, 54, both of Akowonjo area of Lagos State, are facing a six-count charge of conspiracy, assault, threatening violence, obtaining money under false pretence and stealing.
The Ejigbo Magistrates' Court in Lagos State, where the case is being heard, remanded Balogun and Olagunja in prison for blackmail. The prosecutor, ASP Nicholas Atumonye, told the court that the accused committed the offence on November 13, 2013 at 11 Shagari Estate, Ipaja, a suburb of Lagos State. Atumonye said that the accused conspired with others now at large to assault one Prophet Adewoye by forcefully pulling off his clothes and taking nude photographs of him.
He said that the accused threatened to publish the nude pictures of the prophet and unlawfully obtained N2.15 million from him to prevent the publication of the pictures. The prosecutor said that the accused also threatened the life of their victim by making several phone calls demanding for money.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 56, 170, 285, 312 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. Section 312 stipulates 15 years imprisonment for convicted offenders.
The accused however, denied the charges. The prosecutor objected to bail for the accused on the grounds that several members of their gang had not been arrested. The Magistrate, Mrs. M.B. Folami, adjourned the case till February 14 to consider the request of the accused for bail.

She said the woman left with the baby under the pretext of going to call one of her friends to also have her hair plaited and she had to report the matter to the police when the woman failed to return the baby, several hours later.

After the death sentence yesterday ,Aworolo broke down in tears and started praying and while his murdered wife's family are supposed to be happy they found justice, the father-in-law of Aworolo Akolade told reporters
“The Bible says that you should not rejoice at the downfall of your enemy. I feel bad about all this because this was a boy I assisted in every way I could. He even said when giving evidence in court that we were close and this is very true. I assisted him when he needed me and even though he was jobless, my daughter (Titilayo) also helped him.
I am happy the judge berated Akolade’s parents for telling lies in court. They bad-mouthed my daughter and even claimed that she committed suicide. I am happy that my daughter has been vindicated.  I have also been vindicated because I told the whole truth in court. I leave everything to God”.

The Delta State Police Command in Asaba on Saturday said it had arrested seven men, including a father and his two sons, for alleged armed robbery.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Celestina Kalu, stated this while briefing newsmen at the “B” Division Asaba.
She said the suspects’ arrest was based on the alert to the security agents by their victim, who was robbed of N72,000 in the early hours of Saturday.
Kalu also noted that the gang leader, of the same family, fled with the money stolen from the victim on sighting the police.
She said that the father of the armed robbery suspects, who gave accommodation to the criminals in his house, was also arrested for attacking the police officers.

WHAT SORT OF MUM IS THIS?? Mother burns 11-yr-old daughter’s buttocks with hot knife!

Torture

A middle  aged woman, Ene Edem Okon, has been arrested by the police  for allegedly  inflicting bodily harm and tying her 11-year-old daughter, Queeneth Ene Edem, hands and legs  for being wayward. She was arrested when Queeneth appeared in her school, Government Primary School, Akim, with multiple wounds on her chest, stomach and buttocks prompting the school authorities to report the matter to the police at the Akim Police Station.
The girl  narrated to Sunday Vanguard that, on  February 17, she left  home at  Eneyo village in Akpabuyo  Local Government Area for  the Maternity Junction Settlement, some four kilometers away from  home, to meet her cousin, one Blessing, but did not return home. “We were waiting for Blessing’s friend from whom she wanted to collect something but she delayed in coming and we waited till night and, because we were afraid of  going back home, we slept in an uncompleted building at the Maternity Junction”, she said.

The 11-year-old said the next day, one of her friends saw her at the Maternity Junction and told her that her mother  was looking   for her with a machete after which she became afraid to go  back home. “We stayed on the road near  our house and were breaking kernel to eat when my mother sent somebody  to come and catch us. That  person  came pretending to play with us but  suddenly grabbed me and dragged me to my mother”.
The mother, angry, allegedly got hold of her and used a rod to hit her all over her body, thus leaving  her with severe wounds. “She also put the kitchen knife in the fire she was cooking and when it was hot, she placed  it on my buttocks”, the girl stated.

Confusion In US, Others Over Sanusi’s Ouster

SANUSIPRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan’s order of suspension displacing Mallam Lamido Sanusi Lamido as the country’s Central Bank Governor is causing confusion in western capitals including Washington DC, where sources say officials are conflicted on the real implication of the development.
News of the suspension announced by the time US government officials woke up Thursday morning is being interpreted by the western media as a reaction and a fight back from what is here described as the Nigerian oil cabal, but US officials in the Treasury and State Department are said to be more cautionary in their attitude but without a clear interpretation of what the event means.
Sources revealed over the weekend that the US State Department and the US Treasury Department were already aware that the CBN Governor was under investigation even before he started raising dust regarding the missing billions from the NNPC.
It was learnt that the US, United Kingdom and few other EU nations had helped Nigeria set-up a financial transaction tracking system that monitors significant movement of financial resources in and outside the country, especially regarding certain high flying Nigerians and their close allies anywhere in the world. The US for instance is believed to have been well aware long time ago regarding the claims against the CBN Governor released after his suspension by the Presidency.
A report of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria has since been released in some section of the media raising critical questions about the financial management of the CBN, especially the apex’s bank’s 2012 audited financial statements. US sources say the Nigerian government is not the only one aware of the report, but certain western nations who are not exactly sure what to make of the report.
Informed sources explained that expectations within official US circles were that President Jonathan would simply let the former CBN Governor’s controversy fizzle away since he was already on his way out. Thursday’s suspension has certainly provoked an international jolt.

Lamido Sanusi Suspended as CBN Governor

Lamido Sanusi Suspended as CBN Governor

According to Thisday Newspaper
" President Goodluck Jonathan asked the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, to resign immediately on the grounds that the letter Sanusi wrote to him on the unremitted $49.8 billion oil revenue to the Federation Account, was leaked to former President Olusegun Obasanjo by the CBN governor.
But Sanusi denied leaking the letter to anyone, has refused to resign and informed the president during the heated telephone exchange that he could only be removed by two-thirds of the Senate as required by law."

Hehehehe, i guess since Lamido claimed that he can't be sacked by the presidency, they decided to suspend him which is equal to being sacked
