Genevieve Nnaji tells NET she was absent at Half of a Yellow Sun premiere because ‘she had the flu’

Genevieve Nnaji.
Genevieve Nnaji was absent at the BFI London Film Festival premiere of Half of a Yellow Sun because she was ‘ill with the flu’, her publicist says.
The Nollywood actress who plays a supporting role in the 2013 Nigerian drama film directed by Biyi Bandele was missing at the premiere which had in attendance Chimamanda Adichie as well as actors Chiwetel Ejiofor, OC Ukeje, Best Games boss Nimi Akinkugbe and  Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Nigeria, Arunma Oteh.
Unfortunately Genevieve was unable to attend the London premiere of ‘Half Of A Yellow Sun’ as she was taken ill with the flu and advised to rest‘, publicist Vannessa Amadi told Nigerian Entertainment Today.
Amadi explains that Genny was pretty sad she couldn’t attend as ‘she had flown into the UK just days before specifically for the event’.
We are told Genevieve has ‘completely recovered’ and is back to work. We have also learnt, the 34-year-old Nollywood superstar is back in Nigeria.
In other news, peep that Chanel White Quilted Caviar Leather Classic Maxi Jumbo flap shoulder bag Genny is carrying in the picture above. It’s worth about $4000 (approximately N630,000).
