Kanye West has returned to Twitter and announced a date, 18 June,
which many are hoping will be the release date of his long-awaited new
album.
Kanye West
was once of the most prolific tweeters in the celebrity world, and his
feed often proved hilarious reading, if at times frustrating. The rapper
closed the account late last year, leaving fans cut off from the inner
workings of his mind.
This afternoon (2 May, 2013) the account was back in action, though, with just one post on it reading “June Eighteen”.
It’s not yet been confirmed that the date relates to a release date,
but given that it was recently reported that his new album was ‘done’,
all signs seem to point to that conclusion.
So far we know that the album has been recorded in Paris, that it
involves Daft Punk, TNGHT, Azealia Banks and Chief Keef and that it’s a
darker offering than West’s last full length release.
The first single from the album is apparently to be called ‘I Am God’,
though a source close to West has clarified that it’s a reference to
Psalm 82 rather than a result of the rapper’s inflated ego.
