“Why I Beat My 14-Year-Old Daughter To Death” – Nigerian Retired Soldier Tells His Side Of The Story
Unless by divine intervention, John Udin, a retired soldier may likely spend the rest of his life in jail if he doesn’t go to the gallows for clubbing his 14- year old daughter, Glory to death.
John 72, from Jesse, Warri in Delta State was discharged from the Nigeria Army in 1999 as a corporal. He has 11 children from three wives. Two of the wives and seven children are in Jesse, while he resides at 28 Adewale Street, Iba New Site, Ojo, Lagos with the youngest wife, Comfort and four children in a two-room apartment.
Last Tuesday, what started as minor family quarrel turned fatal. On that fateful evening, while Comfort, Glory and the three other children were preparing for evening church service, it was alleged that John came to the front of their compound and sat down. As his family members wanted to leave for church, it was further alleged that he blocked the entrance and said they won’t go because they lack the character of good Christians.
According to John, his daughter Glory, a secondary school student didn’t have an iota of respect for him. “Whenever I tried to counsel or advise her as a beloved father, she would make ignoble and despicable signs to show an extreme disdain and contempt she has for me. These are the things she copied from her mother.
“Some times she would go to another family’s house to sleep or she did something not of good report, when I tried to caution her, she would talk to me or demonstrate with a sign that shows an utter contempt.”
As John prevented them from going to church, he accused Glory of making the same derogatory sign to show her contempt for him. This was said to have provoked the ex-soldier who dragged Glory to their bedroom where he allegedly beat her with a nail-studded plank.
According to Comfort, her husband didn’t allow their daughter any medical assistance.
“I went and called a nurse who came and started treating her. When she was not improving, my husband took her to a hospital where she died” Comfort said.
Glory died last Sunday five days after the incident.

Embattled Oduah Seeks Audience With Jonathan
The embattled Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, has commenced last- ditch efforts to save her job.
The PUNCH learnt on Sunday that she had used the last few days seeking private audience with President Goodluck Jonathan.
On Friday for instance, she was sighted at the Presidential Villa in Abuja as calls by groups for her removal over the purchase of two BMW bulletproof cars for her by the Nigerian Civil Aviation authority heightened.
The NCAA spent a whopping $1.6m(N225m) on the two cars which market value is N36m each.
A very reliable Presidency source, who disclosed Oduah’s visit to the Villa, said she “wanted to explain herself to the President, who like every Nigerian, was embarrassed by the media reports and the evidence of the purchase of the two cars at an outrageous sum of N225m.”
The source said, “She was here (Villa) on Friday but like you know, Mr. President was busy throughout the weekend.”
When asked if Oduah eventually saw Jonathan, he replied, “I cannot tell for sure if the minister who looked worried saw him or not.”
However, the source dismissed speculations that Oduah, who is to appear before the Senate this week over the crisis facing the Aviation industry, was at the Villa to beg the President to prevent possible sanctions.
He stated that should she decide to beg, she would most likely reach out to highly placed Nigerians who have the ears of the President.
The source mentioned the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih; former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; and Ijaw National Leader, Chief Edwin Clark, as such prominent Nigerians.
Our correspondents gathered that apart from the calls from outside government circle for her sacking, some of her colleagues are believed to be telling people close to her to advise her to voluntarily quit in order to save the Jonathan administration further embarrassment.
A female minister is said to be leading the campaign as she sees this as an opportunity to get even with Oduah.
It was learnt that a female minister, who allegedly bought a private jet, has been angry that Oduah was the prime suspect in an embarrassing publication involving the leasing of the jet at outrageous sums per trips made by top government officials.
Investigations also revealed that the release of the documents on the purchase of the two vehicles was likely the fallout of infighting among female ministers in the President’s cabinet.
Meanwhile, strong indications emerged on Sunday that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission may probe the bulletproof car scandal.
A source at the EFCC said the scandal came as a shock to most of his colleagues.
The source said, “Like you and all other Nigerians, it is natural that all of us are shocked by what happened. I think you should hold it there until events unfold.”
The Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak, had in an interview with one of our correspondents, assured Nigerians that the President would not shield the minister if found culpable.
He had said, “I can assure you that President Jonathan will not shield the minister or any government official for that matter if he receives information that is true.”
Meanwhile, Ms. Oduah is expected to appear before the Senate as the Senate resumes plenary on Tuesday.
The Senate had summoned her and heads of parastatals under the Aviation ministry over the air accidents in the country.

God didn't let girls who took pics while I slept spoil my career-Davido
We have had pictures of you in bed with various kinds of ladies. How has that affected your career?
If it has had any big effect on my career, I'm not sure I know about it, because I am still doing my thing and God still has my back. God did not allow some random act of one person who felt like fooling around to now spoil my career or ruin my image. Sebi they wanted to snap me (take my photograph)? They 'snapped me' and went their way…and my life goes on. That's itDid you drop out of school because you wanted to pursue your musical career?
Who says I dropped out? I'm in my third year in school. It's not been easy, but it's working one way or the other. Being madly busy is not easy to cope with when you are studying; but it has no choice but to work out.

United Kingdom Set To Send 267 Nigerian Prisoners Back Home
*Abeg make una do ooo, my Grand pa fit dey there * LOL.....
Talks are continuing into reaching a compulsory prisoner transfer agreement, which could see more than half of the 534 criminals from Nigeria currently in UK jails repatriated.
UK Prisons Minister, Jeremy Wright, told MailOnline how ‘more foreign prisoners must serve their sentences in their own countries.’
Ministers have been ordered to step up efforts to end the scandal of more than one in eight prisoners being from overseas.
British Prime Minister, David Cameron vowed to end the practice of the British taxpayer picking up the bill for criminals with no business in the UK.
The Prime Minister said in 2010 that he would ‘personally intervene’ to send more foreign criminals home.
Britain has even made clear it would pay to build new prisons in countries like Nigeria to speed up the process of sending foreign criminals home. Up to £1m has been promised to upgrade Nigerian jails, including a new wing at Kirikiri Prison in Lagos.
But to date little progress has been made. When the coalition was formed there were 11,135 foreign prisoners in UK jails, and this figure has fallen by just three per cent since to 10,786.
Each felon costs an average of around £40,000 a year to keep inside.
Last week it was announced that notorious Liberian warlord Charles Taylor is to serve his 50-year sentence for war crimes in the UK.
A prisoner-transfer agreement was struck with Albania earlier this year to ‘free up space in prisons here and reduce the cost to the British taxpayer’.
It was the first major bilateral prisoner transfer agreement with a country outside the European Union.
There were around 250 Albanians in UK jails in June this year.
But securing an agreement with Nigeria would be seen as a much more significant breakthrough.
Latest figures show there were 534 Nigerian nationals in British jails, 485 men and 49 women.
Nigerians account for one in 20 of all foreign prisoners, putting the country fifth in the league table of nations whose citizens have been jailed in the UK.
Justice Minister Mr. Wright said, “I am clear that more foreign prisoners must serve their sentences in their own countries.
“That is why we are currently working with the Nigerian Government on a compulsory prisoner transfer agreement to increase the number of prisoners who are transferred.
“Legislation allowing Nigeria to enter such an arrangement was passed earlier this year by the Nigerian Parliament. We are now working with them on the text of a final agreement.”
Overflowing jails abroad have made it increasingly difficult to deport prisoners to their own country.
It is argued that by paying for building new jails or making existing ones more ‘comfortable’ so they approach British standards, will be repatriated.
Deal: David Cameron, who promised to help Nigeria improves its jails, hopes to strike a deal with Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan
In April Mr. Cameron said, “When people are sent to prison in the UK we should do everything we can to make sure that if they’re foreign nationals, they are sent back to their country to serve their sentence in a foreign prison.
“And I’m taking action in Government to say look we have strong relationships with all of the countries where these people come from.
“Many are coming from Jamaica, many from Nigeria, many from other countries in Asia.
“We should be using all of the influence we have to sign prisoner transfer agreements with those countries. Even if necessary frankly helping them to build prisons in their own country so we can send the prisoners home.

"I Had Already Told God I Wanted To Marry A Virgin And I Got One" - Holy Mallam
|
|
How did you meet?
Ijeoma: I had seen him perform before and I was impressed with his style of presentation. The day we met, he hosted a show organised by my friend. When it was time for him to leave, he could not because someone was blocking his car. During the brief period he waited to move his car, we got talking and he gave me his call card. When I got home that night, I decided to call him since he did not have my number. I felt it would be nice to have a comedian as a friend. This was in May 2004. We have been married for eight years.
Holy Mallam: I was in a hurry to leave the venue of the show in order to go and see a lady I was interested in at the time. When Ijeoma called me that night, I was in the lady’s house. After her call and subsequent calls from me, we became friends and I eventually left the lady for her.
How did he propose?
Ijeoma: It was not spectacular, no ceremony. One day we were in the car and he said, ‘if we should get married right now your children would be Yoruba. After a week, he just came and thrust a ring into my hand and I just collected it. Unfortunately it was too big for my fingers and he had to return it to the shop.
Why did you leave that other lady?
Holy Mallam: I was still talking to her, trying to get her to agree for us to date but she was giving me too many conditions. The process was taking too long.
Were you a virgin at the time he met you?
Holy Mallam: She was.
Are you joking?
Holy Mallam: No. I am serious. I had already told God that I wanted to marry a virgin.
Is he your first lover?
Ijeoma: Yes.
Why? You had gone through secondary school, the university and then went for national youth service..
Ijeoma: I just think it is God. I gave my life to Christ when I was in Junior Secondary School. Another thing was that I am a very shy person. I dreaded the thought of going to bed with a man, telling myself that I may not be able to face him in the morning. I had male friends but our relationships did not last more than one month because along the line, the man would want intimacy as a proof of love. Then, our fellowship coordinator always cautioned us to keep ourselves pure. He would tell us that if we disobeyed God, we would get pregnant. Somebody else also told me that if a man married me as a virgin, he would appreciate me so much and give me whatever I wanted.
Was it after the wedding that you had sex with him for the first time?
Ijeoma: Yes. It was three days after the wedding because I was too scared. But on a Monday, my husband said, ‘we can’t continue like this. I have paid and have done everything.’
Holy Mallam: It was a very big wedding. Over 1000 guests attended and I was too tired on the night of the wedding to do anything. That was a good excuse for her.
Did you have to read about how to deflower a lady?
Holy mallam: No.
Ijeoma: I read it up on the internet and was able to guide him

"My dream Is To Establish A Church" + "I Still Remain Faithful To God"-- Beverly Osu Dislcoses
Did
Beverly really mean it? ....in an interview recently she
said she thought she would be a reverend sister but abandoned the vision
when she dropped out in her fifth year.
The young BBA contestant finished her secondary education in a secular institution before moving to Babcock University.
She says " I could not finish from Babcock because I had some personal issues. Again, I dropped and enrolled at the National Open University.. It affected me in a very spiritual way. In as much as I know worldly things, I still fear God and have faith in Him. The reason why I wanted to become a nun was because I was raised in a Catholic home. I just felt it was the best thing for me to do at that time."
According to her she used to see herself as a messenger of God. Even though she did not become a nun, "I still remain faithful to God. Part of my dreams is to establish a church and do a lot of charity work”
Unbelievable!!! Can that actually happen? God can do anything

Why Actor Kalu Ikeagwu Is Yet To Find A Woman To Marry
Baby Boo, search no more, *COUGHING* ....come to mama.. hahahahaha
It's always easy to have a girl or two, claiming to be in a relationship. But when it comes to the issue of who to settle down with as a life partner, it's often stressful for guys as many ladies of today in the cities are, to be candid, not showing REAL signs of a good wife material. #GoFigure
Below is what Nollywood actor Kalu Ikeagwu said about his inability to find a wife yet...
"Do I want to get married? Yes. But that would be when I find the right person; I mean that person I love so much and want to spend the rest of my life with; that’s when I’ll settle down. The reason why I am not married now is that:
Marriage is very important to me. I have come to terms with the fact that marriage is the most important institution from God. And I take that very seriously.
Ultimately I would like my relationship with my wife to be like that between God and the church; that’s why it is important to me. I wouldn’t say it’s been challenging though. I have gone through a lot of experiences that made me wise. When I get married, my experiences would make me a wise, good and a loving father.
I like a woman with a great sense of humor; that’s very important to me. And of course, she has to be very attractive and intelligent. Above everything else she should have a close relationship with God because that’s very important to me as well.
That’s exactly why I am yet to get married. I want to be successful in my marriage just as I am in my career."
DMX Now A Preacher!
Is former Ruff Rider rap star DMX now a preacher? The rapper was caught on camera evangelizing to a fan in L.A last night. We are not so sure about the verses yet but according to Associate Amebo's, there is a video proof which i never get!
The rapper went all religious on a fan outside the We Jammin’ Restaurant in L.A. We are told, he brought out his bible (from where!?) when the fan confessed to him she was going through some pretty hard times., and began reading some verses.
We still have no idea if the fan actually needed financial help instead but, DMX was all ready to help her out – with the word of God!

Aviation Ministry confirms purchase of N255m vehicles for Oduah
Hmmm, na wa..... Aunty 'ACT OF GOD' you dey fear accident ?
Ministry of Aviation has confirmed that the Nigerian Civil Aviation
Authority bought two bulletproof vehicles worth $1.6m (N255m) for the
Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah.
An online news medium, SaharaReporters, had reported on Tuesday that
the armoured vehicles were delivered to the minister in August.
The medium reported that documents in its possession showed that the transaction for the purchase of the two BMW cars started in June, but the request for the delivery of and payment for them was fast-tracked between August 13 and 15, 2013.
The transaction involved the NCAA, First Bank of Nigeria, and Coscharis Motors Limited, according to the report.
The two black BMW 760 Li HSS vehicles had chasis numbers WBAHP41050DW68032 and WBAHP41010DW68044, and were reportedly delivered to the NCAA on August 13, 2013. They were received by two store managers, F. Onoabhagbe and Y. A. Amzat, who is also the agency’s head of transport.
Meanwhile, two major air crashes have occurred under Oduah’s watch.
These were the Dana Air crash in Lagos on June 3, 2012, in which 163 people died; and the Associated Airlines crash of October 3, 2013, also in Lagos, which claimed 15 lives.
A day after the Associated Airlines’ crash, a Kabo Airlines’ Boeing 747-400 plane carrying 512 pilgrims made an emergency landing at the Sokoto airport with deflated tyres and damaged the airport’s Instrument Landing System.
On Sunday, an IRS Airlines Fokker 100 plane carrying 99 passengers also made an emergency landing at the Kaduna airport, after developing hydraulic problems mid-air.
Four days after the tragic crash involving Associated Airlines’ Embraer 120 plane, Oduah described air accidents as God’s will that were inevitable.
She said notwithstanding this reality, the Federal Government would continue to ensure that there were no accidents.
The minister made the submission while fielding questions from State House correspondents on investigations into the crash.
The minister said, “We do not pray for accidents but they are inevitable. But we will continue to do everything to ensure that we do not have accidents. But an accident is an act of God.
“Again, we do not speculate on the causes of accidents. Until they happen, you cannot say this is the cause or that is not the cause. But what is obvious and is the truth is that in aviation, there are shared responsibilities, starting from the man that carries your luggage to the man that makes sure that your boarding pass is issued to you.
“And so, the regulatory agency, the operators, the management, everybody has his/her responsibility and all must work in tandem for there to be an optimal, secure and safe aviation sector in the country. And that is what we have been working on.”
Oduah described those saying that she left the issue of safety in the airspace to dwell on money-making ventures as ignorant.
However, much criticism had since followed her comment.
She had explained that security and safety could not be achieved without proper funding.
However, the Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of Aviation, Mr. Joe Obi, who confirmed the development on Wednesday, said the vehicles were purchased to protect the minister from some external threats.
He said in a telephone conversation with our correspondent, “Yes, it is true that some security vehicles were procured for the use of the office of the honourable minister in response to the clear and imminent threat to her personal security and life following the bold steps she took to reposition the sector.
“When she came on board as the minister, she inherited a lot of baggage in terms of the concession and lease agreements in the sector, which were clearly not in the interest of the government and people of Nigeria.
“And so, she took bold steps and some of these agreements were reviewed and some were terminated, and these moves disturbed some entrenched interests in the sector, and within this period, she began to receive some imminent threats to her life; therefore, the need for the vehicles.
“It should be noted that these vehicles are not personal vehicles and were not procured in the name of the honourable minister; they are utility vehicles and are for the office of the minister, and if she leaves the office, she will not be taking the vehicles along with her.”
On his part, the spokesperson for the NCAA, Mr. Fan Ndubuike, feigned ignorance of the development.
“I am not aware of anything like that,” he told Punch correspondent at 8.05pm on Wednesday.
The NCAA is the agency charged with ensuring the airworthiness of commercial planes flying within the country’s airspace.
The agency has been under fire lately over a series of mishaps and near crashes involving planes being operated by domestic airlines that were certified fit for flight operations by the NCAA.
There have also been rumours that the NCAA does not have enough funds to upgrade its equipment, send its employees for critical training and hire enough qualified hands, while questions are also being raised by industry watchers on the ability of the cash-strapped agency to procure such expensive vehicles.
However, the Director-General, NCAA, Capt. Fola Akinkuotu, had on Monday denied the claims of being cash-strapped, saying that the agency was buoyant.
He said, “We are not broke, we have been carrying out all our responsibilities and have been undertaking the training of our staff as and when due.
“I can tell you that right now, some of our staff members are undergoing training abroad and we still have others that are waiting for approval; we do not joke with training here and I challenge anyone to come up with anything otherwise to that effect.”

HIV positive woman arrested for breastfeeding neighbour’s baby (PHOTOS)
HIV positive woman arrested for breastfeeding neighbour’s baby (PHOTOS)
A woman who breastfed her friend’s baby without the mother’s consent has been detained in police custody.
She faces the more serious charge of deliberately infecting another person with HIV if found to be HIV positive.
39-year-old Annie Mpariwa, who is currently awaiting her HIV test results and those of the baby she breastfed, could be sent to prison for two years.
Mpariwa of Broadhurst, Gaborone but originally from Zimbabwe was arrested and detained last week on a charge of common nuisance.
A blood sample was taken from her and sent for testing.
Should her results turn out to be positive, she will have to wait for the three-month window period to elapse before knowing the baby’s results.
If the baby too tests HIV positive the common nuisance charge would be upgraded to ‘deliberately infecting another person with HIV’ and a trial date set.
The neighbour whose baby was breastfed, Nyasha Mironga also from Zimbabwe says she has been traumatised by Mpariwa’ strange actions.
Narrating the incidents leading to the arrest, Mironga, 32 said that last week Friday her 14- month-old baby was playing in the yard when Mpariwa snatched and hid her in her rented room.
“I was plaiting my sister’s hair and when I finished my baby was missing.
When I looked for her all over the yard and couldn’t find her, I went and knocked on Annie’s door. It was locked and there was no answer.
“When I looked through the window I saw Annie right there on her bed breastfeeding my baby.
I was so shocked I nearly fainted because I have always suspected her to be sick.
Her breasts are leaking milk yet she is not pregnant and she doesn’t have a baby.
When I asked her why she was breast feeding my baby, all she could say was that she was sorry.”
Confused and angry Mironga said at first she did not know what to do and that it was only after some neighbours persuaded her to report the matter to the police that she did.
“The incident happened at around 7pm on Friday. I reported the matter the following day and Annie was arrested.”
The visibly upset mother added: “ If she turns out to be positive I have to endure another agonising three months wait before I will know whether her milk has infected my baby with HIV or not.”
Meanwhile Superintendent Bonosi Molapisi was reluctant to shed any further light on the matter because he was out of the station when the woman was arrested.
The incident comes in the wake of the newly enacted law on HIV/AIDS that calls for stiffer penalties on people who deliberately infect others with HIV.
Although he would not be drawn into discussing the matter further, Molapisi said the law might be applicable to Mpariwa’s case.
“I am not familiar with details of the breastfeeding incident, but it has always been customary in our courts of law that those convicted of sexual offences, who are found to be HIV positive, get a much heavier sentence.
They are assumed to have deliberately infected their victims,” he said.
Mpariwa was due to appear in court yesterday.

Asari-Dokubo establishes two universities – ‘King Amachree Automobile/ICT Royal Academy’ and ‘King Amachree Arts Academy’
The
leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force, NDPVF, Muhajid
Asari-Dokubo has joined the swelling rank of private university
proprietors with his establishment of a university in the neighbouring
Republic of Benin.
Mr. Asari-Dokubo, who already owns a soccer academy in the West African country and another one in Abuja, said the university, which will be known as King Amachree African University, KAAU, had already been accredited to commence degree programmes beginning September 2014.
He told PREMIUM TIMES in an interview in Abuja that the proposed university, named after his ancestor, was a product of his two existing institutions in Benin Republic, namely King Amachree Automobile/ICT Royal Academy and King Amachree Arts Academy. Both of them, he added, currently award Diploma to their students.
Mr. Asari-Dokubo said he chose to establish the institutions in Benin Republic because he does not only live there, but has adopted it as his country.
“What we have now, we are awarding only diploma now. “By next September, Insha Allah, the university will start,” Mr. Asari-Dokubo, who dropped out of University of Calabar, he said. “For now we have King Amachree Automobile/ICT Royal Academy and King Amachree Arts Academy. Two of them were merged. We have merged the two of them into king Amachree African University. “King Amachree is my great ancestor. He was king of the Kingdom of new Calabar.”
On his soccer academy, the 50 year old Mr. Asari-Dokubo, an indigene of Rivers State, who refused to be tagged a former militant, said it was established to train the youth in soccer free of charge. “We plan to engage the youths. It is free. We have a soccer academy in Abuja and we have another one in Republic of Benin,” he said.
More Nigerians are forced to go to Benin Republic, Ghana, Togo and other neigbhouring countries to acquire education due to the incessant labour disputes and industrial actions within the Nigerian university system as well as the deplorable state of education in the country.
Currently, students of both the federal and state universities in Nigeria are at home due to the strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, over the refusal of the Federal Government to honour its 2009 agreement with the union.
Other unions within the education sector, including the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, have also embarked on solidarity strike while the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, and Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU, are reportedly on the verge of doing towing that path.
Students of the over 50 private universities in Nigeria, whose fees can only be afforded the rich, are however, in session.
Mr. Asari-Dokubo is, like former Niger Delta militants enjoying massive patronage from the current administration, believe to be very wealthy but his source of income is largely unknown.
There were speculation he made his fortune stealing crude oil in the Niger Delta. But he denied engaging in such practices, telling PREMIUM TIMES he had never been part of any act capable of endangering the Delta.
