On the 13th of September 2013, ‘Over The Top Entertainment’ put together a legendary concert with some of the biggest names in the Nigerian Music industry, those whose music would always give you goosebumps, those whose voice would always get you grooving no matter your mood, those whose music has transcended generations, those whose music you can actually dance to with your parents – an event tagged ‘Night With The Masters’ featuring the very classic Onyeka Owenu, Evergreen Ebenezer Obey, son of an Afrobeat icon as well as a legend himself in the same genre Femi Kuti, the cherub face fantastic highlife performer Bright Chimezie, talazo king Wasiu Ayinde(KWAM 1) and Sir Shina Peters on one stage in one night.
The event took place at Eko Hotel and Suites. Looking through the pictures, you’d tell the audience had a fantastic time revelling with the legends, singing along and dancing to the classic hits. None of the legends disappointed, Oyenka Owenu delivered her hit songs gracefully followed by the evergreen Chief Ebenezer Obey in the softest yet groovy tones with his faithful band on set, then, Bright Chimezie, still as energetic even in his older years with fancy foot work we’ve always loved about him.
Next up, the ever colourful Peter Pan of Nigerian music, Sir Shina Peters - the young shall grow – with his ode to the 70s flower power via his guitar. As he is one to always put on a show – he gave the crowd their money’s worth with his eclectic dance moves – gotta love the man. Then, came the son of an Icon who is also a legend in his own right, Femi Kuti with his full band and dancers – we felt the power of the shrine thanks to those ladies. Closing the show, is one of the best Fuji ‘megasters’, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1) – the talazo king – what more is there to say? IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT! Indeed A NIGHT WITH THE MASTERS. Enjoy ALL the pictures from the concert, you’ll be happy you clicked.
Note: We have moved the arrival pictures of the guests after the concert.
