Arsenal in line to sign Madrid striker

Arsenal is planning to capture Adrian Lopez from Atletico Madrid this summer, despite continued interest from Southampton. Arsenal are still in the running for the former Deportivo striker, who could leave Spain for as little as £8.5m.

Lopez has recently lost his place in the starting XI of Atletico Madrid to Diego Costa, prompting Arsenal to sign the player. It is also reported that Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Everton are all reportedly keeping tabs on the player, and could also make summer bids. Adrian has only scored 10 goals in 56 appearances for Atletico, but Arsene Wenger has admired the striker for years and believes he still has potential to become a top player. The striker only has two Spanish caps, and one international goal
