A 64-year-old man, Rasaq Ayinla, has been dragged before an Ibadan Chief
Magistrates’ Court for alleged wandering.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Olalekan Obayanju, said the defendant was found
moving about in a suspicious manner on Thursday at about 8.00 p.m at Oba
Adebimpe area of Odinjo in Ibadan .
Obayanju added that the defendant could not give any adequate information as
to his mission around the area.
He further stated that the act was contrary to and punishable under section
254 (6) of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol II Laws of Oyo state of Nigeria
2000.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of
wandering.
The defence counsel, Tope Olayinka, applied for his bail.
Chief Magistrate Adams Adeshina admitted the accused to bail in the sum of
N20,000 with one reliable surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case to Feb. 13 for further hearing
