Eldest son of Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, Alhaji Aminu
Lamido, is embroiled in another controversy following the death of a
middle-aged man who was knocked down by his car.
Confirming this, Kano Police Command Police Public Relations Officer,
Assistant Superintendent of Police Magaji Magiya, said the accident was
reported at the Kwalli Police Division, adding that they granted bail
to the governor’s son and his driver after they made statements at the
police station.
It was gathered that the accident happened about three days ago,
along Rumfa College by Bayero University Kano Road. An eyewitness said
the governor’s son’s car knocked down the middle-aged man who was trying
to cross the road.
The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital, but was confirmed
dead by doctors on arrival. Magaji said the case file of the accident
had been referred to the Director of Public Prosecution in the state for
advice, while adding that the vehicle involved in the accident had been
taken into their custody.
